CONGLOMERATE

The Truth About Sunglasses:
Why Most Brands Come From Just Two Companies

Did you know that 90% of the sunglasses you buy come from just two major companies?

Most sunglasses brands on the market are owned by a couple of giant conglomerates, making it a highly competitive and difficult-to-access industry.

Luxottica and Safilo are two of the biggest players in the sunglasses market. Brands like Ray-Ban, Oakley, Prada, DKNY, and DG are all owned by Luxottica, while Safilo owns brands like Boss, Dior, Fendi, and Marc Jacobs.

This means that most of the sunglasses you see in stores and online are made by just a handful of companies.
With so much consolidation in the industry, innovation and differentiation are not necessarily a part of these companies' DNA anymore. They have a price advantage since they own almost everything, including their own distribution channels, but this comes at the cost of limited creativity and individuality.
On the other end of the spectrum, there are the Alibaba white-label brands. These allow you to sell sunglasses the "easy" way by choosing a design from their catalog, selecting your lenses, and adding your own logo or lens engraving. However, the downside is that you may find other brands selling the same design, and all made in China.
But what about those who want to create their own designs and stand out from the crowd? It's not easy, but it's possible.

Independent companies like ours are carving our own path by creating unique and original designs.
When we started our company, we faced a lot of rejection from manufacturers who are almost all owned by the big guys. We heard things like "Who are you? Your numbers are too small." But we persisted and eventually found a Japanese company with the finest craftsmanship, making it a perfect match for our high-end luxury product.
Now, we offer limited edition collections that are all numbered with a serial number from 0 to 450. We believe that everyone is unique, and our sunglasses reflect that. So if you're looking for something different and special, check out our collections.
In conclusion, while it may seem like there are endless options when it comes to sunglasses, the reality is that most of them come from just a few companies. This doesn't mean that you can't find something unique and special, but it does require a bit more effort and research. By supporting independent brands and carving your own path, you can stand out from the crowd and express your individuality.
